Access to Employment Service

YMCA A2E was awarded funding from The CES Group back in 2013 to deliver an employment support service at YMCA Queen Anne House, helping residents and young people in Cambridge back to work. The project grew from strength to strength and we delivered this across two counties.

Queen Anne House

Queen Anne House is a supported, 88-bedroom housing site in the heart of Cambridge for homeless young people. Here residents have a safe place to stay and the chance to get back on their feet and move on to independent living.

Access to Employment fed into this support by allowing young people to access specialised, tailored employment support.

We offered an innovative, friendly and unique approach to help bring down barriers and support our young people back into work.

  • 121 support

Building Better Opportunities – eMploY ABILITY

YMCA Trinity Group was delighted to be one of the partners delivering a programme of support called Building Better Opportunities (BBO) ‘eMploY-ABILITY’.

BBO is a project tackling poverty and promoting social inclusion in Peterborough, Kings Lynn, West Norfolk and Fenland. It was funded by The National Lottery Community Fund and the European Social Fund.

The programme supported a significant number of those furthest from the labour market back into work by offering innovative, personalised support with a tailored package of barrier-busting interventions, designed and commissioned with participants.

The programme worked with over 190 participants, many of which were furthest from the labour market, helping them on a journey into work, education/training or job search – offering innovative, tailored support designed and commissioned with participants – a journey at their pace, they chose the destination and we worked together with them to get there.

Previous Funding

Peterborough – Access to Employment (A2E)

In 2015 – 2017 we were funded by Peterborough City Council to deliver an employability service across the city. We were able to deliver 13 employments “drop-in” support services across many locations and to work with many other support agencies which included:

  • Outside Links
  • Seetec
  • Peterborough HMP
  • Genesis Housing
  • Axiom Housing
  • Westwood Jobs Club
  • Citizens Advice Bureau

We were also able to build relationships with agencies and were lucky enough to support employability events such as Skills Service Interview Skills with College Students and Tackling Worklessness in Peterborough Group.
