Grundisburgh

At our Grundisburgh provision we cater for children aged two to five years between the hours of 8am and 3.15pm. We have a wide variety of stimulating, enjoyable, play based activities available to help promote all areas of development, encourage individual choices and promote social and language skills.

We ensure children are involved in choosing what activities they would like to do and we always plan around the children’s interests. We have access to an outside area, where children are able to join in with a range of activities including role play, construction, investigation and sensory play.

Check out all of the fun activities our Grundisburgh team have been doing by visiting their Facebook page.

Meet the team

Kim Streater - Childcare Manager

- Certificate in Early Years Practice
- Level 4 (studying towards BA Hons)
- Been in service since April 2018

I love the sense of family I get from working for YMCA. I am supported with my Professional Development and valued for my knowledge and experience. I enjoy the opportunities to work with other areas of the organisation to try and ensure the children get the very best start to their early years. I love to involve the community around our settings and am always looking for ways that our children can get involved with local events.

My favourite things to do with the children are messy play, singing, making up our own stories and playing outside!

Jess Booth – Childcare Manager

- BA Hons in Early Childhood Studies with Health Studies
- SENCO, Designated Safeguarding Lead
- Been in service since May 2018

I love the progression that the company offers, with everyone being valued and recognised for their skills. The childcare team work so closely together even with the 6 nurseries so far away, and therefore the support and guidance offered to all staff is excellent.

I love spending time in the creative area, the messier the activity can be the better!

Nathalie Howell – Deputy Childcare Manager

- Level 5
- Been in service since Feb 2019

SENCo, Health and Safety Officer, Designated Safeguarding Lead
I love that the YMCA can offer more professional training so we can develop. Through YMCA they are helping support me in doing my degree.

My favourite activities are anything that is messy, I will get loads of different materials and resources out to play and explore with. I will always encourage the children to join in the experience with me.

Stephanie Watts – Early Years Educator

- Level 3
- Been in service since April 2020

I love that it feels like we are one big family and we are supported to do the very best we can within our jobs.

I love getting stuck in and using our imagination to think of new games to play.

Ervie Lassus-Harbord - Senior Early Years Advisor

- Been in service since Sept 2022

Hi I am Ervie.

I have been working in early years for over 6 years and with children for over 16 years.

What I love about the YMCA is the diversity in the setting, staff as well as all the children.

In my spare time, I like to sing, write, craft and spend time with my family and children.
