Ipswich Property Projects
Lizzy Woods, Area Accommodation Manager, has given us this great piece of news about the Ipswich accommodation:
‘Over the last 6 months the team at Ipswich have been busy developing new spaces at our Wellington Street site.
Working on a brand new model of accommodation and support for our 16-18year old UASC residents.
The old hostel on Norwich Road – renamed “The Ark” – has created a new open plan living space where new residents will be able to develop much needed life skills readying them for independence. “The Ark” will create a space for multiple partnership working – nurturing our work with external agencies to provide young people with the support they need to adjust to life in Ipswich.
The accommodation we now comprise of 16 bedrooms, shared bathroom facilities and open place living area with two kitchens and a faith space.
Our development work also includes one of houses used to accommodate 16-18 year olds. Generously supported by Screwfix, we have been able to knock through the ground floor accommodation and create a new open plan kitchen living space. This space looks to create a greater sense of ‘home’ for our young people and encourage them to build positive relationships and a sense of community.
Continued investment in our properties will provide better environments for our young people to grow and develop in – creating a greater sense of belonging and encouraging them to realise their potential on their journey towards independence.’
