Youth Matters Awards- Best Accommodation Project Winners
We attended the Youth Matters Awards on Friday 3 November which has been hosted in London for the last 8 years.
The Youth Matters Awards are set up by YMCA to honor our young people and say thank you to the staff and volunteers who make such a resounding impact on their lives across the country. The stories demonstrate how our services support and provide a heartbeat to the communities while giving young people the opportunity to belong, contribute and thrive.
We were nominated and were finalists in the following categories:
- YMCA of the Year- YMCA Suffolk
- Easy Peasy Pods – Best Accommodation Project
- UASC – Best Accommodation Project
It was a very exciting event with inspirational both young people and staff with great achievements to share. Hosted by enterprising businesswomen, inspirational speaker and winner of BBC’S The Apprentice in 2006 Michelle Dewberry.
Our Easy Peasy Pods and UASC Projects were both in the Best Accommodation Project of the Year category along with another YMCA project from North Staffs, all are great projects and help so many young people in the area. We were also in the running for YMCA of the year. Easy Peasy Pods won its category and we all had a great night at the Awards Ceremony, bringing home our first award from Youth Matters just topped the evening off.
This is a great achievement for our YMCA and we are very proud. Congratulations to all of the other category winners.
