Job Role
Are you looking for an exciting opportunity in your mental health work career? Looking for an organisation who can offer great benefits and flexible opportunities to deliver training to adults and/or mental health awareness to young people?
Our mental health training team deliver a range of locally approved staff training programmes to a range of settings including schools, colleges, early years settings, parents & carers, businesses, youth organisations and local authorities. We also deliver assemblies, workshops, and presentations to groups of young people and adults as required.
Due to demand, we are now looking to expand the service and require more trainers that have specialisms to train staff who work with one or more of the following target audiences:
- Vulnerable young people aged 16-25
- Those in supported housing
- Community youth work
- Early Years
- Parents and carers
- Family work
- Businesses or corporate wellbeing
You will assist in the monitoring of exciting training sessions that will accommodate all learning styles and deliver pre-written training as and when required on a sessional or self employed basis. Sessions range in legnth from short assemblies to three-day courses, and take place throughout the week as required. Please note that allocations will be based on suitability and so you do not necessarilty have to be able to deliver all types of programmes.

You should have the following qualities:
- Have a passion for mental health
- Previous experience of working with young people and delivering mental health services
- Specialisms in working with one or more of the target audiences
- A relevant mental health qualification (ideally a therapist or Counsellor on a register accredited by the Professional Standards Authority)
- Excellent presentation and communication skills
- Experience of delivering training to adults or workshops to young people
- Be able to deliver a range of subjects which include Mental Health Awareness, Anxiety & Depression, Self-Harm, Building Resilience, Managing Challenging Behaviour, Attachment, Staff wellbeing, supervision skills, etc
- Be able to travel independently
- Willing and able to attend one developmental meeting every quarter
- Have a basic understanding of delivering training using IT platforms e.g. Zoom and MS Teams
- A commitment to continuous professional development

Please note: A Standard DBS certificate is required for this role which is covered by the DBS Update Service. If you do not have one, we would be able to facilitate this.
