YMCA and The Cresset spread Christmas cheer delivering panto tickets to local charities
Thanks to local businesses over 60 children from deprived backgrounds will be off to the Panto this Christmas with YMCA Trinity Group and The Cresset.
The tickets for Snow White at The Cresset are part of a special sponsorship package offered by YMCA Trinity Group. The packages will be delivered to local charities including TACT, Adfam and Kinship, EACH, Sue Ryder Thorpe Hall Hospice and Anna’s Hope for distribution to children in need of some Christmas sparkle this year.
Jo Ruff, Head of Family Support at Sue Ryder Thorpe Hall Hospice commented: “For the families of our patients being cared for at Thorpe Hall Christmas can be a particularly difficult time. To be able to offer some of our families the opportunity to go to a Christmas pantomime, where for a short time they can be a ‘normal’ family again, laugh, have fun and make some special lasting memories together is a special gift and can make a real difference at a very difficult time.”
The initiative has been made possible by local businesses including: Coca Cola European Partners; Serenity Loves Ltd; Nexis Services Ltd; Term Times; TC Harrisons; Wingivers Ltd; Arbonne International; Buckles Solicitors LLP; Wilson and Co Homes; Vitas Vending LTD; Baker Perkins; Peterborough 284 Round Table; Adrenaline creative and Lakeside Kitchen and Bar.
These businesses have purchased over 30 special packages at £60 each to sponsor a family ticket to see Snow White at The Cresset. Each package allows two children from deprived backgrounds, accompanied by their guardians, to see the show. The package even includes an ice cream at the interval and a gift from Santa as well as a donation to YMCA Trinity Group’s family services in Peterborough.
Jonathan Martin, CEO of YMCA Trinity Group commented: “We are delighted by the response from local businesses and that so many children will get to experience the magic of the pantomime – a Christmas tradition that many of them will not have had the opportunity to experience before. Any businesses or individuals who would like to help us spread some Christmas cheer are still welcome to purchase the special packages or provide gifts for the children.”
Snow White is a classic story that every child knows. This year Premier Pantomimes and The Cresset will bring this fairytale to life on stage in a spectacular production filled with all the traditional pantomime magic.
Starring Kevin Kennedy (Coronation Street Legend Curly Watts!), and Mitch Hewer (from BBC Casualty and Channel 4’s Skins), along with a full professional cast and a talented team of local performers it’s Peterborough’s biggest and best traditional family pantomime. Imagine the smile on the child’s face as the lights go up and the music starts, or when Snow White takes to the stage and meets her Prince Charming.
Sponsorship packages are still available. Anyone interested in taking part should contact [email protected] or call 01733 373188 for more information.
