Residents win housing football tournament in Bury St Edmunds

The annual Homelessness Recovery 6-a-side football tournament took place on Friday 3 September in Bury St Edmunds. We entered a team consisting of residents from our three accommodation provisions; CYPS, HRS and UASC.

The event was organised by Orwell Housing Anglia Care Trust & Solo Housing and had over 70 people attending, representing organisations from the Care & Support and Housing sectors from across Suffolk.

Our team won the tournament after beating Active Suffolk in the final. The trophy was presented by the Mayor of Bury St Edmunds and our very own Jay Anderton won Top Goalscorer. The team have since stuck together and are playing in a local league at Goals football centre and have won both of their games so far.
