Residents share their lockdown experiences for museum project

During the lockdown period some of our residents and colleagues have been taking part in a project set up by staff at Ipswich & Colchester museum regarding experiences of COVID-19 and lockdown.

The museum has been looking to capture the thoughts and experiences of people in the local area as part of a future piece of work. It would showcase how residents within the town have dealt with COVID-19, and in particular the lockdown experience.

Residents were encouraged to document their thoughts and experiences in a number of ways such as writing poems, drawing pictures and filling in speech bubbles.

A lot of our residents and staff have participated in this and enjoyed getting creative. They have spent a lot of time painting and drawing and enjoyed having something to focus on during this strange period.

We have very much enjoyed being part of this project and look forward to seeing the final works when they are displayed at the museum

A big thank you to the staff at Ipswich and Colchester museums for asking us to take part in this.
