Residents Make a Splash at Thorpe Park

Following on from winning The High Sheriff Award, we decided to treat our young people with a trip to Thorpe Park.

On the 1st August residents from CYPS and Gibson Lodge all had an amazing memorable day out. It was an early start, leaving Ipswich at 7am. But the residents and staff were all so excited that the early start didn’t matter. The drive was just over 2 hours long, but it soon went by as we sang, laughed and ate crisps and biscuits for breakfast.

The weather was great, and the day was full of fun and laughs. Residents all got on really well with each and it was nice to see CYPS and Gibson Lodge mix together. Staff were made to go on every ride and screamed louder than the young people. We went on The Saw Ride, The Swarm, The Walking Dead ride, Colossus, Stealth, The Ghost Train, Storm surge, Flying fish, Detonator, Samurai and ended

For lunch we all sat together and had KFC, and had a quick rest.

To finish off the day we all went on The Tidal Wave. Everyone was drenched from head to toe. It was great! Residents saw staff at looking their worst.

The day could not have been any better. It was so nice to see everyone enjoying themselves together. We laughed, we screamed and had the best time.
