Queen Anne House Career Day
Yesterday, Queen Anne House held a careers event for three hours involving Princes Trust, Trac Construction, DWP, a Creative Learning Tutor, Kier Group and Form The Future.
Between all these organisations over the last few months, we become more and more eager for this to be successful as a whole. So it was great to hear at the end of the session, huge positive feedback was given from our young people and organisers making the day extremely worthwhile.
In that short period two people signed up for Prince’s Trust scheme, two for construction and four other residents said they found who they spoke to very useful for them. This event was such a success that in two months we shall be holding the same event again outdoors here in Cambridge at YMCA Trinity Group involving a BBQ! We are expecting even bigger numbers due to how well yesterday went.
Dan Goddard, Employment Support Keyworker Based at Queen Anne House, commented “Moments like these really do make a positive impact and help our young people on their journey. These moments also give me a feeling on a personal level that big steps have been made again reinforcing these young people’s support network and strengthening their future vision in a career and life.”
We look forward to organising the next event which is already in the pipeline and hope the weather holds up!
