To address recent research that highlights the concern from schools who believe that behaviour in the classroom is getting worse, we have developed a range of introductory open or bespoke workshops for those working with young people of school age.

These workshops are aimed at staff who experience stress and frustration related to behaviour problems and to help them understand how behaviour is a form of communication to improve outcomes using evidence based approaches.

Offered as part of our ‘Enhanced – Stage 2’ training, and available as either an open workshop (view dates), or as a series of two bespoke sessions for whole staff teams, they help delegates to:

  • Understand the nature of challenging behaviour as communication
  • Understand challenging behaviour in the context of the developing brain
  • Explore possible strategies for managing challenging behaviour

Individual places are available for just £30 per person, or you can book a 2x2hr session for staff teams from only £600 (one for £400). Further discounts are available should you host an open course. Contact 01733 373187 or email [email protected] for more information.

Feedback from delegates:

By booking a bespoke course you will also gain access to free ‘Level 2 accredited training’ as part of our distance learning programme. The Level 2 courses are accredited, meet Ofsted requirements, and are the equivalent of a GCSE, some options include mental health awareness, autism, challenging behaviour, counselling skills, etc. and forms part of an approved mental health competency framework.  Find out more on our mental health training page.

The Level 2 course in ‘Understanding behaviour that challenges’ will help follow on from the above YMCA Trinity Group course and enable you to gain insight in dealing with challenging behaviour as well as how to support positive behaviour and the importance of effective communication in this kind of situation. For more benefits about this course see below.

The courses can also be completed free by parents/carers, which is a great way for schools to connect with families and to increase knowledge to support their children.

However, funding is limited and can only be offered on a first come first served basis, so get in touch now!
