Join us for our Virtual Sleep Easy event next month!
We are joining forces with LandAid to put on a very special Virtual Cambridge Sleep Easy on Friday 26 March 2021.
This year, unfortunately we can’t all gather together as we usually do so we’re asking people to SleepOut at Home to raise funds to help support young people in Cambridge. It’s just £10 per person to take part with a £50 fundraising target.
It’s easy to sign up, and if you’re lucky enough to have access to an outside space such as a garden, balcony or terrace, find a sheltered spot there to make your bed for the night. If not, then find the most uncomfortable place you can inside your home such as the bath, shower or bathroom floor.
On the night we’ll have a livestream running where you will hear from more about how the money you’re raising will be put to good use, as well as hearing from young people about their experience of homelessness.
All of the money raised from this year’s Sleep Easy will go directly to supporting YMCA’s Access to Employment Service (A2E) in Cambridge. Since this project launched in January 2015, it has engaged with over 1,000 people, helped to write 600 CVs and has seen 296 people enter employment, education or training.
Please share this event with your family and friends, and if you aren’t able to sleep out consider donating to support those who don’t have a choice. If use social media, please use hashtags #CambridgeSleepEasy #EndYouthHomelessness. We encourage everyone to participate, you don’t need to live in or around Cambridge to take part.
We’d like to say a huge thanks to our amazing sponsors, with whom this event would not be possible: Urban & Civic, The Howard Group, Morgan Sindall.
