We are recruiting Relief Accommodation Project Workers to join our growing team at Queen Anne House in Cambridge.
A rewarding role; working with, and supporting young people as they progress on their journey through YMCA.
About Us

Our Accommodation site in Cambridge has 80 bedsit style rooms, providing a home for 16-25 year olds. We have a fantastic team of accommodation workers, providing ongoing support and encouragement to the young people living at Queen Anne House. Our aim is to ensure confidence is built and life skills are achieved, enabling a young person to achieve a positive move on when the time comes.
Queen Anne House is located in the centre of Cambridge by Parker’s Piece, easy to get to via public transport, or if you travel by car we have free onsite car parking too.
For our teams we will ensure our policies and procedures are truly inclusive and work to ensure our environment is a place where everyone can thrive.

Job Role
Relief Accommodation Project Workers assist in the running of the residential areas of the project.
Ensuring a high level of working practice and maintaining high standards of supervision and support, in order to create a warm caring and homely atmosphere.
Various relief shifts are available, evenings, weekends and nights (on an as and when required basis). Many of our relief workers progress in their careers, applying for Full and Part Time contracted roles when opportunities arise.
Skills and Experience
In summary, successful applicants will have the following qualities:
- Great interpersonal skills with the ability to deliver good face to face customer care
- A good understanding of confidentiality
- Ability to work in a non-judgemental and non-discriminatory way
- Ability to interact with young people in a positive and confident manner
- Ability to work under pressure
- Experience using computers
- Sunny disposition
- Be able to work as part of a team
