YMCA Trinity Group is a rapidly growing provider, specialising in providing accommodation and support. We are recruiting for a Part Time Project Worker to join our accommodation team at Wellington Street in Ipswich to support our Parent & Child service. Part of your role will include providing workshops within our Easy Peasy Pod room which is a space for young parents and their children to grow in confidence through activities.
Job role
This role will include key-working individuals, as well as engaging all of the young people who live within our projects, supporting them to develop socially, personally and spiritually in order that they may grow in confidence and independence.
Accommodation Project Workers are required to ensure that all residents receive an appropriate level of support and training according to their individual needs and to assist residents to access education, employment, training, and voluntary work experience where applicable.
The role of an Accommodation Project Worker also involves interviewing potential residents/parents and support them to devise their own support plan (Pathway Plan). Through delivering life skills training you will give young people the skills and knowledge they need to move on to more independent accommodation and resettle them in their new home.
Experience working with a similar client group and an understanding of the needs and challenges these young people may be facing is essential. Experience of delivering group work sessions is desirable. You will need a current knowledge of housing benefits and welfare benefits for young people and the significant changes to housing law.

Days and hours
This is a part time role for 25 hours per week, to be worked 5 hours a day on a rota basis which includes days / evening shifts.
