Youth Session Volunteer
Role purpose – volunteers will play an important role in implementing youth work activities for young people aged 8-19, during term time and school holidays
Personal Qualities and Skills
• Working understanding of safeguarding young people and child protection issues
• Ability to communicate effectively with a range of people, but particularly children and young people
• Ability to participate in individual and group work with young people
• Ability to work effectively within a team
• To be reliable and punctual
• Ability to work in a non-judgemental and non-discriminatory manner
• Availability to work evenings and weekends
• Knowledge of current issues affecting young people
• Knowledge of sports and outdoor activities
• Knowledge of arts and crafts
• Experience delivering youth activities
Specific Project Requirements
• To participate in activity sessions during term time and school holidays
• To provide a safe and comfortable environment for young people
• To support the supervision of groups where needed
• To report any potentially distressing behaviour or dangerous equipment
• To adhere to all policies and procedures laid down
