Reparation Volunteer Peterborough

Do you want to give some time to helping young people change their futures? Do you enjoy working outdoors, and have a passion for improving your local community? Do you enjoy the idea of being a truly valued part of a dynamic and important team?

Role

YMCA Trinity Group has a project that works with young people (10-18 years old) who have been issued a ‘Reparation’ Order by the Courts or Police. This means that they will use their sentence to repair and restore their local community spaces and services. These sentences are designed to be positive and motivational – helping young people to think differently about their past behaviour, and choose a different path in the future.

Volunteers provide a vital, role-modelling element to this service. Volunteers prove that building resilient, happy communities is everyone’s responsibility – including our young people. Volunteers can provide these young people will the support and kindness they need to become motivated and interested in improving their local area. They can inspire young people to think differently about their own futures, and reach for higher goals. Volunteers have the power to make an incredible difference, and to feel the rewards that come with this.

As a Reparation Volunteer, you would join an established team. You would work alongside a Reparation Key Worker, and have a strong voice in the team – helping the service to ensure best-practice for all young people. You would have access to all the benefits of being a member of the YMCA, including free access to our gyms, and opportunities for training and development.
