Reparation Activity Volunteer
Role
Assisting with the supervision and support of young people with a Reparation Order working on various ‘hands –on’ projects within the local community and sharing your skills and experience to help motivate and encourage young people whilst undertaking practical, meaningful work
Personal Qualities and Skills
• Be over 18 years old
• Have an open and non judgmental approach
• Be able to relate to and engage with young people
• Be able to remain tolerant and patient in challenging situations,
• Be an effective listener and have excellent communication skills
• Be able to establish and maintain professional boundaries and confidentiality at all times
• Be reliable and punctual
• Be able to work as part of a team
Specific Project Requirements
• Reparation activities are generally scheduled to take place on a Saturday and Sunday morning
• We would want you to join the group at the activity venue from approx. 9.30am to 12.30pm. (Hours vary depending upon the location of the venue/location of the young people and associated travelling time)
• Occasional weekday sessions may be available
• A current driving licence and your own car is required to travel to/from the activity venues
• Be able to commit to the service for at least a 12 month period
