Bauer Media

We worked with the team at Bauer Media who took time from their busy schedule to redecorate our Time Stop accommodation in Peterborough by opening ‘The Bauer Lounge’ a fully renovated relaxation zone within the building for those most in need. Time Stop provides emergency temporary accommodation for up to 22 homeless people between the ages of 16 and 26 in the Peterborough area. Our key workers provide direct support for residents which include: 1-2-1 counselling, education, employment advice and guidance.

The community lounge and dining areas were in need of some much needed TLC and as the hub of the home for the young people living there the lounge area desperately needed a facelift and so when Bauer Media proposed taking on the challenge we gratefully accepted.

Lynn Hodson and Leanne Patterson from Bauer Media took on the task and negotiated with local companies for the painting and decorating as well as sourcing new furniture, even donating a new flat screen TV and a couple of computers for residents to use. Residents now also enjoy monthly delivery of various Bauer Media magazines from Grazia, Heat and Closer to Motorcycle News, Car, Garden News and Today’s Golfer. The estimated cost of the renovation is £7000 for which the YMCA and the young people we support are extremely grateful.

Lynn and Leanne are proud of what they achieved for YMCA Cambridgeshire and Peterborough and our residents and staff are thrilled with the new “Bauer Lounge”.
